Privacy statement
Edscha welcomes your visit to our website and your interest in our company and products. We take the protection of your private data seriously and want you to feel comfortable when visiting our Internet pages. Safeguarding your privacy when processing personal data is a key concern for us and one which we address in our business processes. We process personal data collected on visits to our website in accordance with data protection rules in the country where the party responsible for the data processing is situated. Our data protection policy is also governed by the rules on data privacy management applicable to Edscha.
Collection and processing of personal data
When you visit our website it is standard practice for our webservers to save a range of general information and data. This general information and data are stored in the server’s log files. It is possible to determine the browser types and versions used, the operating system used by the accessing system, the website from which an accessing system arrives at our website (so-called ‘referrer’), the sub-websites which are driven towards our website via an accessing system, the time and date that the website is accessed, an Internet protocol address (IP address), the accessing system’s Internet service provider and other similar information and data which serve to avert danger in the event of attacks on our IT Systems.
When using this general information and data Edscha does not draw any conclusions about the person concerned. This information is simply used to deliver the content of our website correctly, to optimise the content of our website, to ensure the permanent functionality of our IT systems and our website technology as well as to enable the provision of essential information to law enforcement agencies in the event of a cyber attack. This anonymously gathered information and data is therefore evaluated by Edscha, firstly for statistical purposes and secondly with the aim of increasing data privacy and protection within our business so as to ultimately ensure an optimum level of protection for personal data processed by us. The anonymous data on server log files is stored separately from all personal data input by a particular person.
Personal data is only saved if you voluntarily give us permission to do so, e.g. in the course of a recruitment process or in a request for information by email. Personal data obtained from you is used only for the purpose for which you provide us with the data.
Except where otherwise provided by law we save personal data for as long as necessary in order to achieve its purpose (e.g. the recruitment process), for as long as you want or for as long as you have given your consent. It is not gathered, processed or used for any other purpose.
Data privacy
Edscha uses technical and organisational measures to ensure that your data that we hold is safeguarded from manipulation, loss, destruction and access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are regularly improved in line with technological developments. However, data transmission over the Internet may have security vulnerability so that absolute protection cannot be guaranteed. For this reason anybody is also free to communicate personal data to us by other means – by phone, for example.
Links
Our Internet offering may contain links to external third-party websites with content over which we have no control. We cannot therefore assume any liability for such content. Liability for the content of linked sites always lies with the respective provider or operator of the website. Linked sites have been checked for possible legal violations at the time of linking. No unlawful content has been found at the time of linking. It would be unreasonable, however, to expect the content of linked sites to be permanently monitored without any specific indication of a violation. We will promptly remove such links on being notified of violations.
Right to information
Edscha will, on request, promptly inform you in writing in accordance with the law as to what personal data, if any, is held by us about you. If incorrect information should be held by us despite our efforts to ensure that data is accurate and up-to-date we will correct it at your request.
You are also entitled to have your personal data blocked and deleted unless there should be a statutory obligation to retain it.
Our social-media appearances
Data processing by social networks
We maintain publicly accessible profiles in social networks. Please find the social networks we use in detail below.
Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter etc. can usually analyse your user behaviour comprehensively when you visit their website or a website with integrated social-media con-tent (e.g. like buttons or advertising banners). A visit to our social-media sites triggers numer-ous data protection-relevant processing operations.
In detail: If you are logged into your social-media account and visit our social-media presence, the operator of the social-media portal can assign that visit to your user account. However, your personal data may also be collected, if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social-media portal. In this case, that data is collected via cookies that are stored on your end device or by recording your IP address, for example.
By means of the data collected that way the operators of the social-media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. That way interest-related advertising can be displayed to you within and outside the respective social-media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.
Please also note that we cannot trace all processing on the social-media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing may therefore be carried out by the operators of the so-cial-media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and data-protection regulations of the respective social media portals.
Legal basis
Our social-media appearances are designed to ensure the widest possible presence on the Internet. This is a legitimate interest in terms of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
The analysis pro-cesses initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent in terms of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).
Responsibility and assertion of rights
If you visit one of our social-media sites (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social-media platform for the data-processing operations triggered during that visit. As a matter of principle, you can assert your rights (information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data transferability and complaints) both against us and against the operator of the respective social-media portal (e.g. against Facebook).
Please note that despite the joint responsibility with the social-media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data-processing procedures of the social-media portals. Our possibilities depend largely on the corporate policy of the respective provider.
Storage period
The data collected directly by us via the social-media presence will be deleted from our sys-tems as soon as the purpose for storing them no longer applies, you request us to delete them, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory legal provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected. We have no influence on the storage peri-od of your data, which is stored by the operators of social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the social-network operators directly (e.g. catch up on their data-protection declaration, see below).
