Focus on greater passenger comfort
One of the automotive industry’s great trade shows took place from April 16 to 25 in Shanghai: the International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (Auto Shanghai) is regarded as the leading trade fair for the Asian region, and the organizers say it is already the third largest auto industry show in the world. As part of the Gestamp presentation there, Edscha was on hand for the first time to show visitors its most important innovations, including the Edscha Power Door. Gestamp President Francisco J. Riberas spent much time visiting the stand; he was a guest during the press days on April 16 and 17 and was able to gain a personal impression of his company’s outstanding presentation. Gestamp focused at the show on the topic of electromobility. Along with innovative lightweight design solutions, which are gaining growing importance particularly for electric vehicles, Gestamp presented its latest developments in the area of hot forming, for the processing of other materials like aluminum, as well as showing new products like battery boxes.
Edscha’s presentation mainly focused on the topic of comfort. Visitors, including top managers of the automakers NIO and Great Wall, thus could experience the advantages of the Edscha Power Door at first hand. But innovative door checks like the Edscha Double Spring also met with great interest among visitors to the show. Ervin Jahic, Chief Executive Officer of Edscha Asia, was highly satisfied with the outcome of Auto Shanghai: “The Chinese market is changing very rapidly and the local OEMs demand speed and innovations. Visitors to our stand could personally convince themselves that Edscha China with its local presence and local capabilities is an excellent partner. With our latest innovations like the Power Door we are optimally prepared for the future and the age of autonomous driving.”
