On the occasion of the 150th company anniversary Edscha convinces as “Top Employer”

An outstanding, award-winning employer

Certification attests to Edscha’s exceptional human resources policy

Remscheid, January 31, 2020 – The international automotive supplier Edscha, a member of the Spanish Gestamp Group since 2010, has even two reasons to celebrate this year. The company was founded in Remscheid 150 years ago and has now been singled out by the Top Employers Institute as a “Top Employer Germany 2020” for the third time in a row. This award recognizes Edscha’s outstanding HR management and HR strategy. It characterizes the company as an employer that places its employees at the center of its entrepreneurial activities and offers them an outstanding working environment. Edscha did particularly well in the fields of human resources planning, training and development and onboarding of new employees.

“Such a long company history as we are able to celebrate this year is only possible with qualified and motivated employees,” says Peter Laerberg, Director of Human Resources at the Edscha Group. “I am therefore all the more pleased to once again receive independent confirmation of our progressive human resources policy.”

David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute: “Companies like Edscha are a shining example of a dedication to people practices as they continuously commit to empowering their employees for a better world of work. Congratulations!”

The award is the result of an independent investigation by the Top Employers Institute, which has been certifying employers with outstanding human resources policies and strategies around the globe since 1991. The institute puts a strong emphasis on objectivity and neutrality. “Top Employer” certification is given only to companies that have shown that they fulfill the highest standards of human resources management and interest in employee development. “Top Employers” offer their employees excellent working conditions and provide them with opportunities for further growth. Ten practical areas were evaluated and audited as part of the certification: talent strategy, human resources planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, performance management, leadership development, career and successor planning, compensation and benefits as well as the company culture.

The exclusive certification gives potential employees guidance when choosing an employer: they are provided with objective evidence of a company’s qualities as an employer. The company in turn benefits from the award by strengthening its reputation as an employer. This helps with the competition for well-trained specialists. In addition to Edscha, 127 other companies received a Top Employer Germany distinction.
