From January 12 to 15, Edscha presented itself together with Gestamp for the first time at the Auto Expo India in New Delhi. With the foundation of the joint venture Edscha Aditya Automotive Systems, Edscha had secured direct access to the Indian market last year. The main aim of the trade show appearance in New Delhi was to increase awareness of the Indian market, which is still new to Edscha, and to enter into discussions with automobile manufacturers who are active in India.
Among other things, the concept of Active Frunks was presented. With this, Edscha offers a state-of-the-art solution specially tailored to electric vehicles. Where there is still a combustion engine in most vehicles today, space is freed up in the electric vehicle that can be used as an additional luggage compartment, for example. The Active Frunk combines an actuator for fully automatic opening and closing of the front lid with a hinge for active pedestrian protection.
In the area of sliding doors, Edscha showed customized solutions for passenger cars and commercial vehicles: the Two-/Three-Piece-Rail. This newly developed multi-part rail can contain both aluminum and plastic components. The advantages of this new concept are obvious: less weight, lower costs, lower tolerances and faster processes.
